This study looked at adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) who were not using insulin and started a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). After 3 to 6 months, their average blood sugar level (hemoglobin A1c) dropped by approximately 1.3 to 1.4 percentage points. Many more patients reached guideline blood sugar goals, without needing more diabetes medicines or more hospital care. These results suggest that a CGM may help people and their care teams manage T2D more safely and effectively.
